Maintaining the the original BMW quality, smoothness, and reliability were the key factors in the VF design. This is where the VF software comes into full play. VF have harnessed reliability of Vortech superchargers and quality of VF custom software with their 15 years of supercharging experience and worldwide OEM supply sources to create the ultimate supercharger system for the ultimate drivers car.

VF engineers spent over 12 months software testing the BMW Bosch ECUs to perfect the smoothness and functionality of the supercharged vehicle. Software flash technology and latest BMW file versions have all been employed to provide the cleanest and the most reliable method of software installation with the use of an optional DIY programming cable and email-able software. Testing the software included extensive road and dyno test cycles, with acceleration and deceleration tests for drivability smoothness and ECU fuel management. All test cars were put through long term full throttle testing in conditions varying from wet cold climates to hot dry Arizona desert temperature for safe-optimal air fuel ratios and knock activity monitoring. Competently-written ECU software has allowed VF to fully explore the potential of the BMW engine, making over 40% more power in most applications.

VF-Engineering supercharger kits are turn-key ready to install and no additional work or components are needed. The hardware and software is fully reversible and designed for a simple install and allowing ease of access for engine maintenance. The linear power delivery is well suited for both automatic and manual transmissions as it remains within conservative tolerances.

Munich. It is the biggest over-the-air upgrade in the history of the BMW Group. The rollout of the latest version of BMW Operating System 7 (ver. 11/20) will get underway on 22.02.2021. Over one million vehicles worldwide from the premium carmaker across more than 20 models are due to receive the software update, setting another new record for the largest over-the-air upgrade campaign ever carried out by a European manufacturer. Highlight features of the latest software version include the integration of the voice service Amazon Alexa for five countries, the ability to quickly and easily sign in with your driver profile once on board using the My BMW app and expansion of Active Navigation to cover additional countries. Customers will receive a push notification in their car or in the BMW app on their smartphone as soon as the upgrade is available for their vehicle.

Since 2018, BMW Operating System 7 and the Remote Software Upgrade facility have offered BMW drivers a quick and simple way of keeping their vehicle up to date with the latest software. New functions can be conveniently imported into the car over the air. The installation files are prepared in the vehicle in the background. Once this has been done, even major updates rarely take longer than 20 minutes to install.

Other new features are more specific to certain models. For example, the iX will now be able to stop charging and unlock the charging cable lock via the My BMW App. The iX, Active Tourer, and X1 with the optional Parking Assistant will get active steering assistance when reversing a coupled trailer. Some vehicles, like the new 7 Series and X1, will have the My Mode Digital Art feature after installing the new software.

Digital Cluster support the ability to be updated for future improvements and aftersale purchases. Make sure your device stays up to date! Download and read the latest firmware releases in our Update Center.

I purchased my cluster in April 2021. Installed in June the same year. Did all the firmware updates and purchased a few more themes. Best decision I made for my car. The cluster adds so much more to my driving pleasure.

Step 1: Below is the link to the EMU First Start Checklist and FAQ and Troubleshooting document links. The ECU is the brain of the engine. Certain functions are very important to test and set for an engine to start and run. Setting base ignition timing along with setting and testing inputs and outputs are critical steps to know everything is working correctly before trying to start the engine on a base map. This document, the EMU Black Training Manual, and the "?" Help buttons found in the EMU Client software tuning parameter windows will help you learn how circuits work and how fuel injected engines are controlled. Please click the EMU First Start Checklist below for information on installation of the EMU Black, EMU Classic, and PnP adapter along with additional procedures that will improve your experience with engines. If you are using a Flying Lead Harness or making your own wire harness, all available ECU pinout diagrams are located in the Base Maps and Manuals link at the bottom of this page. The FAQ and Troubleshooting document contains information on EMU Advanced Lambda fuel tuning, diagnosing non-functional sensor circuits, and much more. We continually add more information in both documents that we find helpful to customers and experienced tuners.

These base maps are for use with plug and play adapters ONLY! If you have a custom engine harness (self-built, Tweak'd, Wiring Specialties, etc.) the output assignments may not be correct and could damage your engine. Verify all assigned outputs and ensure that they match your wiring! In the software, go to "Tools-> Show assigned outputs" and "Tools-> Show assigned inputs". If they do not match, do not load the map to your ECU, change the outputs first. You will also find all Plug and Play adapter manuals at this link.

Link Engine Management's software package, PC Link*, allows real time configuration of all functions in your Link ECU. With features such as automated tuning, data log analysis and ECU firmware updates, PC Link is one of the most comprehensive tuning packages available on the market.
